Итуруп – жизнь на вулканах
На острове Итуруп, самом крупном из Курил, до сих пор имеются вулканы, которым не спится. Более того, когда-то давным-давно этот остров был создан огнедышащими гигантами. И хотя с этого момента прошли миллионы лет, данный процесс в миниатюре можно до сих пор увидеть в тех местах острова, где имеются выходы застывшей лавы. Итуруп входит в южную группу Курильских островов. На острове насчитывается 20 вулканов, 9 из которых являются действующими.
